Jean Félix holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Université de Montréal. Active in several projects to which he contributes as producer, composer, arranger and double bass player: the group Cordâmewho has performed all over America and released 10 albums, including Lieux imaginés Winner of OPUS 2013 and Da Vinci inventions finalist ADISQ 2022, the ensemble won the 2016-2017 Accès culture award and is a finalist for the 2018 Tournée RIDEAU award for outstanding touring in Quebec. The world-jazz trio Bomata, which has produced 2 critically acclaimed albums, and the Trio Jean Félix Mailloux, which produced the Aurores boréales album. Having toured extensively in Canada, Europe and Asia, Jean Félix is an extremely versatile and sought-after freelance musician, and is involved in several other projects with highly talented artists, including Manela, Solawa, the Huu Bac quintet, Perséides, Jorane, Zal Sissokho and Nozen, who have each won several awards. He works regularly with Robert M. Lepage on film scores. Jean Félix is an extremely prolific composer for theater, dance and film, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Cirque du Soleil and the Conseil des arts de Montréal, among others.
